Tom Dixon’s ‘eclectic’ misson

I’m in love with British design and manufacturing company Tom Dixons’ new ‘Eclectic’ range of gifts and housewares, made from honest materials like copper, marble, cast iron and wood. These weighty pieces are unique and designed to display around the home, most items with function and purpose as well as charm. In an effort to ‘revive’ the British furniture industry whilst still retaining its traditional heritage, Tom Dixon’s team releases regular collections of contemporary must-have home additions.

The Bulgari Hotel experience

A quiet oasis in the middle of pulsing Milano. A breezy sea-side sanctuary in the heat of Uluwatu, Bali. A luxurious space overlooking Hyde Park in flashy Knightsbridge, London.

With Shanghai to open in 2015, the Bulgari Hotels folio is growing at a rapid speed.  Hotels are a relatively new offshoot to the Italian jewellery house, with the first one opening in 2004. I made it a priority to visit the beautiful Bulgari Bali (the #2 place to stay in the whole of Asia according to Smart Travel Asia magazine) when I was there last year.

Luxury Group, the luxury division of the Marriott hotel chain, operates the Bulgari hotels and resorts (along with the Ritz-Carlton ones) and its no surprise then, that everything about this hotel stands up to what you’d expect from the name. The infinity pool dropping off to a vast ocean and poolside decking space surrounded by tropical plants make it a real sanctuary.

Below are some images of the beautiful Bulgari Milano and Bali hotels:

A mix of old and new- Graham & Green

Graham and Green, a family run homewares and furniture company from Notting Hill, brings us a contemporary mix of old and new. Their collections inspire regular room re-vamps, and the elements in their style ethos guarantee an ideal living space for those with a visual aesthetic; GLOBAL, Glamorous, Individual, Life-enhancing…

Unfortunately, they don’t currently deliver pieces outside the UK. Hopefully the future will bring international delivery for G&G so we can get some into our homes here in Oz.

Cire Trudon X Fornasetti

A  new collection of scented candles, boxed incense sticks and diffusers see a collaboration between two iconic brands; Centuries-old French candle house Cire Trudon and Italian design house Fornasetti.  Combining my love of all things French and Italian, The Fornasetti Profumi per la Casa collection celebrates the Fornasetti ceramic heritage by including signature clean silhouettes to decorate your home,  together with such an alliance of skill sets- Cire Trudon, perfumer Olivier Polge, and skilled ceramicists Ceramiche Dal Pra.

Lookbooks as artworks? Surely not.

Weekends are good for scrapbooking. Or collaging. Anything can be collaged. And it’s one of my favourite things to do.
I recently didn’t want to part with some old beautiful Hermes lookbooks I had, so I decided to combine the parts of my favourite prints and images with a Paris street-scape calendar that had expired.
Thought they might make a nice artwork, so I got my home D.I.Y hat on.

Next project will be assembling the pictures of these divine bear tricks and alphabet letters  from an old  Prada Christmas gift catalogue. I’m going to make a stylish kid’s wall hanging.
